A few weeks ago, we brought home a beautiful apricot standard poodle puppy named Bella. Everyone said puppies are a lot of work, and many folks lifted their eyebrow when I said we were bringing ours home in mid February. I guess they could imagine the trouble of dealing with the cold, ice and snow during housebreaking. Spring is finally here after a long, snow-filled winter. It is a time for appreciating the miracle of nature’s splendors being reborn. I woke feeling down this morning consumed with worry for a close relative going through serious health problems. While my feelings were valid, they were not helping me get breakfast made, lunches packed, dishes done and the dog walked. Last night, I had the opportunity to participate in a panel on school choice aimed at parents of special needs children who will be transitioning to kindergarten next year. Our town has a magnet system, whereby parents have six elementary schools to choose from. Each school has a different feel, community and resources.
